Did you know that in a recent Florida Department of Education 10-year study only 38.2% of high school graduates earned a higher level degree or credential, and of those, only 14.4% were four-year degrees? These numbers are staggering, considering most of us try to nudge our sons, daughters, and students in that direction.

We all agree that education and training beyond high school is critical to a successful future. The truth is that a four-year college degree is necessary for some career choices, but there are many other options for the 61.8% of those who don’t or can’t attend four or more years of higher education.
